A paintbrush is a specific type of brush used to apply paint or similar products (ref. Wikipedia). Paintbrushes are substantially divided into two families: paintbrushes for decorating and paintbrushes for artists.
The paintbrush sector also include paint rollers.
For different kinds of paints and applications a variety of paintbrushes and rollers have been developed.
From painting new buildings or renovating the existing ones, to realizing the finest paintings, these items are required. Other applications concern also the industry and hobbies.
Generally the paintbrushes have plastic, plastic and rubber or wooden handle. The ferrule can be made of plastic, stainless steel or steel with different finishing. Artist paintbrushes can include aluminum ferrule or even quill ferrule.
Bristles can be natural bristles, synthetic filaments or a blend of both.
Synthetic filaments can be made of polyester (PET or PBT) or nylon. Filaments can be hollow or solid and tapered or not.
Natural bristles can be hog bristles for decorating paintbrushes. For artists’ paintbrushes employed materials also include: fine hair of sable, ox, pony, goat, mongoose and badger.
Paint rollers are offered with different covers or materials. Covers are polyester, acrylic- or polyamide-based, they can be connected to the tube by sewing, gluing or thermo bonding. Sponge and rubber rollers are also available.
